Conclusion

• Over the past twenty years the EFC team has worked diligently to clean up and clear the land, to build a healthy home ( which also serves as a venue for conferences, gatherings, film screenings and other community events), and to begin the process of transforming the land into a viable farm.

• More recently, following the design concept of the permaculture plan, the team is turning the property into an urban, organic, self-sufficient farm. Added to this is the further challenge of accomplishing our goals using as little money as possible, by engaging people into contributing their time, energy, expertise and materials.

• Much has been accomplished: there remains more to be done. Now the intention is to propose to joint venture with Santa Barbara city (and possibly with SB City College) to create of this land and property a showcase of sustainable possibility. A place open to the public for lectures, demonstrations and to explore options in order to find the best ways for our community to create a New Way of Living that serves individuals, the community and the planet
