We are not the Creator, we are the created. We live on a planet which is already politically organized. We do not need artificial national boundaries built by conquest, when the continents and bio-regions are already clearly demarcated. These geo-political divisions (usually based on watershed regions) allow for the creation of communities of interest which become the “sustainable communities” of our stated vision.
“We did not weave the web of life, we are merely a strand in it” said Chief Seattle. By recognizing and honoring the Earth-web created by a spiritual power greater and wiser than the human collective, we can know “whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves.”
Implementing what has already been created by a spiritual power greater than the human collective will allow us to build a new world that works for the highest good of all life. The tools already exist. (Read here) an essay describing how a global sustainable community can be created, using Santa Barbara as the example.) All that is required is for us to recognize and implement them. How we do that is the subject of the following chapters of this web-book. »
